In this post, I’ll be sharing my answers to some “get to know me” questions. Hopefully, this will give you a little insight on who I am and what I’m all about! If you have any other fun, serious, or just random questions make sure to leave a comment on this post and I’d be happy to answer.
How old are you?
I am 21 years old, born on November 16, 1995. November babies, anyone?
What is your nationality?
My parents were both born in the Dominican Republic. They met here in the U.S., where I was born.
Any Siblings?
I am number 3 of 4. There are two girls and two boys.
How tall are you?
I am 5’6.
Where do you live?
I’m a Jersey girl!
Relationship status?
Yes! I have a boyfriend. My sweet boy’s name is Timothy. He’s so funny and random (always something new with this guy).
STORY TIME: I will never forget the day he asked me to be his girlfriend on December 31, 2013. To be honest, I refused to date him for a while and only wanted to be his friend. BUT he was very persistent and could not take no for an answer. On the day he asked me to be his girlfriend we were at our church for an annual New Years Eve service. He asked to see me before the service began. He was 15 at the time and was so adorable (still, is). After a couple months of pursing me, he finally asked. When he asked, he nervously showed me a necklace he had brought me (so cute!) and said, “I wanted to know if this was the right time?”
As I’m sitting here writing this right next to Timothy, I am laughing, filled with so much joy and gratitude because looking back, our relationship has truly blossomed into something beautiful. We continue to learn about each other and grow in Christ. I’m so honored that I get to know and love him more everyday. Marriage, you ask? Wait for it 😉
What did you study in college?
At college, I studied Business Management and minored in Spanish. I graduated in December 2016.
What is your “day” job?
I’m a corporate girl. I am on the eCommerce team of a major fashion retailer.
Where do you shop?
Well, I’ll have to say my favorite place to shop is TJ Maxx – there are so many great finds ALL the time. I spend a lot of time at TJ Maxx, often more than I should but I love it! Other stores I shop at are J Crew, Aeropostale, The Loft, Old Navy, and H&M.

How do you overcome insecurity?
There was a time where I was so self conscious about everything about me. My smile, my skin tone, acne, my hair texture, my weight, the list goes on. I remember in middle school wanting to loose weight and look like the “ideal” supermodel so bad, I would run back and forth until exhaustion in this tiny hallway in my house. I would dye my hair blonde and put blue contacts on because I wasn’t secure in my own image. I was the girl that followed the trends and didn’t know what it was like to be herself.
It wasn’t until I started to spend time in the things of God and get to know who He is and what He thinks about me that I found my true security. I thank my parents for instilling in me truth and being examples of what confidence in Christ is. Maybe you’ve heard Genesis 1:27 before: “So God created mankind in his own image..” Then it goes on to say in verse 31, “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Have you ever stopped to ponder this thought? Your inner most being, He made. AND not only that, He says you’re good. When I think that God made me perfect just the way I am, I walk so much taller and want everyone to know that they TOO were created perfect.
Insecurity doesn’t disappear overnight. Trust me, I know. And hey, I’m STILL a work in progress. Just because I know that God created me perfect doesn’t mean I never struggle with insecurity, I’m still human; however, having an insecurity no longer holds me hostage. In the name of Jesus, I am free of whatever negative thoughts want to consume my mind and who I am. I don’t need security in my own image, I’ve already found it in His.
