Recently got this cute “Babes Support Babes” tee from RiffRaff and felt like I just needed to write a whole blog post on this message because ya’ll! Some girls these days just boggle my mind. Why can girls (yes, girls) be so catty sometimes? You guys this is not cute. Just because your girlfriend is succeeding in a certain season in her life and you feel like you’re not, this does not give you a reason to be unsupportive or even become competitive. She is not your competition!
I can’t tell you the hours I’ve wasted in life comparing myself to other girls, looking at their success and thinking: “my life sucks,” “I’ll never look like that,” “why does she have all this success,” etc. I get so mad at myself every time I think that I entertained those kinds of thoughts for even one second!
There’s so much beauty in girls supporting one another and wanting the best for each other. Everyone has their seasons, why can’t we all just celebrate everyone’s wins without questioning our own?
“Real queens fix each other’s crowns.”
If anything, being supportive of someone else’s success demonstrates your confidence in who God has uniquely called you to be. When God created you and knit you together in your mother’s womb, He made you with your OWN identity. Not even twins are the EXACT same. So when we celebrate someone else’s wins, let us NEVER question that God has given us a unique favor for our OWN wins. Even if our wins may look similar, they aren’t! Everything that’s taken you to get to where you are is different than what someone else has been through to get to where they are. This is beautiful! If we were all the exact same, life would be a bore.
“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
So sisters, celebrate each others wins and remember that she is NOT your competition. BABES SUPPORT BABES. <3
