5 Verses to Read When You Can’t Trust God

To be honest, I wish this blog post was all flowers and butterflies and a simple “You got this girl! Trust God.” But girl… To be completely transparent, trusting God is SO SO difficult. Especially for those of us who are often control freaks (guilty).

I want to just clear up some maybe “assumptions” about me. Yes, having a curated instagram feed and pretty pictures is apart of this whole “blogging” thing, but can I just say my life is NOT all what it seems to be. Matter fact, I’m pretty sure 100% of bloggers can say the same. So let’s just get that out of the way – this girl right here is nowhere near perfect no matter how BOMB that edit on IG is. So no need to compare your life to mine or anyone else on IG. Please don’t.

Moving on, now that we’re being transparent, can I just say the last couple of months I have endured the hardest, most emotionally challenging months of my 23 years here on earth. Things that I have endured are very dear to me and are family matters I rather not disclose; however, lets just say POOP got real (in exchange for better words lol).

With so many prayers lifted to God (I call them desperate prayers), my prayer life has evolved and grown drastically. It’s true what people say, the most difficult times in your life is what draws you closer to God. When I tell you my prayer life has TRANSFORMED like never before, it really has. When you’re in a situation where there is absolutely nothing else you can possibly do but cry in desperation to your Heavenly Father, growth happens.

When a situation is completely out of my control I have learned to lean into the Word of God.

I read this quote the other day on pinterest and almost screamed lol:

“Don’t say God is silent, when your bible is closed.”

AHHH! That’s just SO good you guys! When you’re in desperate need to hear the voice of God, OPEN that bible girlfriend! DO IT, IT WORKS! I’m not a theologian by any means.. But I know God and He knows me and my hearts desire to consistently hear His voice.

These verses here are just SOME of the verses that have encouraged me to trust God in the midst of the most difficult situations:

1. “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life–whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27 (Relax! God know’s exactly what you need, when you need it!)
2. “Wait for the Lord be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14 (TRUST requires patience!)
3. “So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all he has promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36
4. “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20 (His ways are higher!)
5. “That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.’” 1 Corinthians 2:9

Sister, I hope this blog post has encouraged you and has reminded you that there is a God who loves you SO much. Although you may not see it now, there is purpose in your difficulties. Let God use your pain to instill GROWTH inside of you to bless not only you but those around you. Will you trust Him? He’s too good not to!
