Some people are totally against setting “new years resolutions” because it seems like just a fad. Everyone hypes the “new year, new me” saying and honestly, I can admit, it definitely gets annoying. However, I get it! A new year is an exciting time because with it comes new days, new opportunities, and a fresh start for some. I am all in for being a better person not only in January, but daily!
One of the most talked about goals, you guessed it, is fitness. Everyone wants to get fit. No surprise here, but did you know that gym membership purchases and foot traffic soar over 40% between December and January?
I used to be all into fitness back in high school and my early college days when I played softball (I even wanted to be an athletic trainer, haha I’m not sure I would’ve survived in that industry… eh maybe, you never know LOL). Now in days, I just pray my love for pizza and Chick-Fil-A doesn’t catch up to me (Lord, help us all).
My goal in regards to fitness this year is to get my butt to the gym at least 2-3 times a week and consume less carbs… ahh but the carbs so good! I have been enjoying going on Pinterest and searching up different dumbbell workouts. Going to the gym like a lost puppy is such a waste of time (trust me, I’ve been there!).
MY WORKOUT ROUTINE
I like walking into the gym and having a plan. I usually do about 15 minutes of cardio at the beginning (could be the treadmill, elliptical, stair master, or bicycle). Then I jump right into my Pinterest workout.
I really like doing this circuit! YOU CAN FEEL THE BURN, GIRL! I definitely had to stretch a whole bunch the next day.
Like I said before, my goal is to go to the gym 2-3 times a week. I’m definitely not a gym rat… so I don’t want to be there everyday haha sorry not sorry. I have a the $10/month plan for Planet Fitness. But dumbbell workouts are something you can do from the comfort of your own home. With a yoga mat and some dumbbells you’ll be golden! For weeks I can’t make it to the gym, I’ll often look up a Youtube video for cardio (I love the POPSUGAR Fitness channel!).
I hope this little post gets you motivated to get going on those goals of yours or set some goals if you haven’t already! What are you working for?! Always remember that you are beautiful no matter what! Lets take care of our bodies because our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. You are God’s masterpiece, Queen! Love yourself, boo!
