25 Lessons I’ve Learned in 25 Years

Ahhhh! My 25th year! I’m so happy and blessed to be able to celebrate 25 years of life beside my family, my friends, and my amazing fiancé! If there’s breath in my lungs, I am GRATEFUL! The song that continues to resound in my mind is “The Blessing.” What a beautiful anthem that symbolizes the Blessing of God over his children. And that’s exactly how I feel, a blessed child of God.

The past 25 years I have grown, laughed, smiled, cried, rejoiced, mourned, and so much more. Above all else, I have LEARNED! I have learned so many valuable lessons these past 25 years that I pray I will continue to carry with me the rest of my life.

Here are 25 lessons I have learned in the past 25 years.

1. Be disciplined and put your relationship with God first. No excuses.
2. Honor your mother and your father.
3. Listen to godly wisdom from those you trust.
4. Don’t trust everyone.
5. Some things are better left unsaid.
6. Serve others even when you don’t feel like it.
7. Prayer is your biggest weapon.
8. Hard work really does pay off.
9. Don’t compare your day 1 to someone else’s day 1000.
10. Stay in your lane.
11. Never stop thanking God.
12. Love hard.
13. Stay away from relationships that drain you.
14. It’s okay to say no.
15. It’s okay to do your own thing.
16. Simplify your life by eliminating things that waste your time and/or space.
17. Don’t give your attention to people/things that don’t deserve it.
18. Be more present.
19. Be honest with those whom you love.
20. Sharing how you feel is okay.
21. Save your money.
22. Spend wisely.
23. Never allow the world to determine what you do.
24. Wait for God to tell you yes.
25. Let God tell you no.

Amongst all the lessons I have learned in my life, these are the 25 that have stood out the most. I hope you have resonated with some of these and they too help you in your life. Thanks for being apart of my life and sharing this fun birthday moment with me!
